Northwest High School

End of Year details

Posted Date: 05/21/26 (03:30 PM)

Good Afternoon,
Below are handful of items your student(s) will be responsible for as we prepare to finish the school year.  The last day of class will be Tuesday, May 26th and will be followed by 3 days of exams.

Underclassmen Exam Schedule:
NW High School will be holding underclassmen exams on Wednesday (5/27) through Friday (5/29).  We will be utilizing an "open campus" format during this time and students will only need to be at school during their required times.  For example, Wednesday May 27th from 7:30 to 9am is the exam slot for ANY student with a first period class.  If your child has study hall during 1st period they are not required to be present at that time.  If your child does not have the ability to come and go throughout the day they can ride the bus to and from school (or be dropped off at the front doors) at their regularly scheduled times.  A reduced school lunch will also be provided at school as normal.

Sophomores attending RG Drage:
Any sophomore attending RG Drage next fall will need to return their chromebook, charger, and case to Mrs. Braman in the media center at the conclusion of their last final exam.  These students will be issued a chromebook in the fall through RG Drage.  Students will also receive an informational packet over the summer with important details needed before the start of the year.
*Students not attending RG Drage will simply keep their chromebook over the summer like in years past.

Medications:
Any student who has medication(s) in the main office will need to pick these medications up on or before Friday, May 29th.

Lockers:
All student lockers will be cleaned out (and contents thrown away) starting the week of June 1st.  Students are asked to take ALL belongings out of their locker before leaving for summer break.

Summer Reading:
Not to think about next year already but I am also including files for ELA Summer Reading and AP Modern World History.  These will be posted to the school's website in the coming weeks.   A Google Classroom for Summer Reading has also been created for students to join (class code: ir7qudmo)

As my first year as High School principal is drawing to a close, I would just to say that I am truly grateful for the opportunity I have been given to work with your children.  The support your households place on education is seen inside the halls of Northwest High School each and every day.  Thank you again and I look forward to serving you and your children again next year!  Have a great summer and Go Indians!!
